About Adirondack Expressions Art Camp
The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts (PNC), in collaboration with Transitions, a supportive Apprenticeship program for young men and women with learning differences, is the proud home of Adirondack Expressions, a summer art camp for young adults aged 15 - 27 with learning differences who love art and want to spend a week creating in the beautiful Adirondack mountains. Each summer, there is a one-week session where campers can expect to work on fun and educational art projects with experienced artists for teachers.
Adirondack Expressions Camp projects, activities and social events promote creativity, individual talent, choice, social interaction and self-worth. The Sunday to Friday camp sessions include housing in local supervised apartments, meals, activities and art classes at the Paul Nigra Center. Campers take two classes per day in topics such as painting, paper crafts, woodworking and photography. The rest of their days are rounded out with fun social activities. A typical day at Adirondack Expressions Camp looks like this:
10:00am Head to PNC
10:30am Morning Gathering
11:00am Morning Class
1:00pm Lunch at PNC cafe
2:00pm Afternoon Class
4:00pm Afternoon Reflections/Group Activity
8:00pm Group Activity

The goal of Adirondack Expressions Camp is to immerse students in as many art forms as possible in a beautiful, fun and safe environment. At the end of the week, there is an exhibition where parents, friends and family can come and see the fruits of the week’s labor.
Adirondack Expressions Camp aims to inspire a lifelong passion for the arts and is open to all who want to cultivate their creativity, regardless of ability. If you are looking for enriching activities to fill your child’s summer break, then Adirondack Expressions Camp may be just what you – and they – need.
