*Cost: $35 per person

Have a delicious brunch in our Grand Gallery while enjoying the incredible sounds of Stringwynde comprised of Melanie Chirignan, flautist and Darhon Rees- Rohrbacher, harpist. The brunch menu will include quiche, stuffed French toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, salad greens, refreshments and desserts.

The pair hails from the southern Saratoga region and joined forces as Stringwynde in August 2017. Darhon and Melanie each hold graduate degrees in music and routinely perform in a variety of musical genres. As individual performers, their appearances have included solo recitals, chamber ensembles, symphonies, and many private events. The musicians are also regarded as versatile educators, having taught music privately, as well as in classrooms at area public and private schools.

Darhon Rees-Rohrbacher, who is of Welsh and Irish heritage, holds a Doctorate degree (DMus) in vocal performance and literature. Initially trained as a classical vocalist and pianist, she began her harp studies after moving to Upstate New York and has since followed a multi-faceted career path as harper, arranger, singer and conductor. Her musical skills have taken her from the most formal, orchestral concerts to very intimate chamber performances wearing historical costume. She is a well-known composer whose harp arrangements are sold internationally and she has many published articles in harp journals.

Originally from Hauppauge, NY, Melanie Chirignan earned her bachelor’s in Music Performance and Music Education from SUNY Fredonia, graduating magna cum laude, and her master’s degree in Flute Performance at the Hartt School. Her eclectic tastes have led Melanie to collaborate with many different performers and ensembles, including but not limited to the New York Chamber Player’s Orchestra, the Chelsea Symphony, and the Hartt Independent Chamber Orchestra. Chirignan has also worked closely with many composers to premiere new works by a variety of artists, several of which are now available on itunes and Amazon.
